Mark Klugheit

I’m Mark Klugheit, an agent with the 1st Heritage Advisors (Luxury) Group at Tierra Antigua Realty in Tucson Arizona. I specialize in luxury, vacation and second homes in Tucson’s Foothills and areas to the north and west such as Oro Valley and Dove Mountain. In 2025 I closed 9 transactions representing both buyers and sellers of upper end properties with an average price near $1,000,000.

A graduate of both Yale College and Yale Law School, before getting into real estate I spent 25 years as a partner with one of the largest law firms in the world (Dechert LLP). I negotiated settlements and wrote contracts for many of America’s biggest corporations, in many cases involving tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars. And now as a real estate agent I put the same skills that made me a successful lawyer to work for you.

Attention to detail. Making sure that the documents that protect you say exactly what they’re supposed to say and don’t lead to disputes that can disrupt a transaction. Taking the time and using the right words to get things exactly right. Anticipating problems and solving them before the documents are signed.

Hard work and availability. As a big firm partner my days didn’t end at 5:00 and my phone was never turned off. If something was important to my clients at whatever time, it was important to me. That’s the same promise I give my real estate clients. Iknow that finding, buying and selling a home will be the center of your attention while you’re doing it, and when we work together making that deal happen in the way you want will be the center of mine.

Skill and negotiation. Every contract and every lawsuit settlement starts with two parties who want different things. Often it’s the best price, but sometimes it’s other things like timing or terms of sale. As a lawyer, I had to learn both my clients needs and desires, and also the opposing party’s. And then use that knowledge to manage a negotiation that got to yes and gave my client what they wanted. Decades of doing that as a lawyer has given me a skillset in the back and forth of negotiation that will let me help you buy or sell a home at the price and on terms that meet your needs.

Loyalty and integrity. As an attorney, I was a fiduciary for my clients — that means I was ethically obligated to put their interests ahead of my own. I’m proud to say that in over 35 years as a member of the bars of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the US Supreme Court, I consistently received the top rating for ethics in the national lawyers’ peer review directory. And as a real estate agent I will be your fiduciary. Your interests will always come ahead of my own. Protecting clients with unqualified loyalty was my way of life as a lawyer, and it’s the only way I know how to do business now as a real estate agent.
